About Surana Gems & Jewels
Thirty Years Preserving Royalbloom Heritage — Founded by Mr. Rajendra Surana in Jaipur, Crafting Heirloom Jewelry Since 1995
Our Journey
The Beginning: Jaipur, 1995
In Jaipur's historic Johari Bazaar, where craftsmanship has flourished for centuries, Mr. Rajendra Surana established his practice in 1995. What began with a curated emerald collection would evolve into a commitment—preserving the jewelry techniques once cherished by royal families across India.
His vision was rooted in a simple belief: exceptional craftsmanship deserves to continue. The artisans of Johari Bazaar, whose families had served royalty for generations, understood this intimately. Their practiced hands shaped gold and set stones with methods refined over centuries. This became Mr. Surana's foundation.

Building on Emeralds (1995 - Still Going Strong)
The early years centered on transparency and quality. Each emerald underwent thorough evaluation, with complete disclosure guiding every client interaction. This approach—selective, honest, deliberate—built trust organically.
Clients from those years still return. A pendant from 1996 continues to catch light beautifully. A necklace from 1998 has traveled through family celebrations, its brilliance unchanged. These enduring pieces speak to the standards that defined the beginning.

The Diamond Era (2000 - Growing Every Year)
As relationships deepened, clients naturally sought guidance on diamonds. Mr. Surana invested extensively in gemological education, understanding grading standards, consulting industry experts.
The decision to certify every diamond through the International Gemological Institute came before this was standard practice in Jaipur. It reflected a core principle: customers deserve verifiable quality, documented and transparent.

The Royalbloom Revival (2010 - Present)
A pivotal encounter in 2010 changed everything. An aging master craftsman expressed concern about Jadau—the ancient technique of setting uncut diamonds in gold using natural lac, without modern adhesives.
For Mr. Surana, preserving this art became essential. He embarked on an extensive journey across Rajasthan, locating remaining master artisans and learning their methods. These craftsmen, some retired for years, initially questioned whether anyone still valued such specialized work, but Mr. Surana's genuine commitment convinced them. He mastered the preparation of lac, the precise pressure for setting Polki diamonds, and traditional techniques developed over centuries in royal ateliers. The Jadau Diamond Polki collection launched in 2010, and today it defines Surana Gems and Jewels—heritage not as history, but as living practice.
